“A connection error has occurred”
Solution: May be to do with the SSID of the Router or signal strength if the conneciton drops. Putting the PS3 into DMZ may help. Also, many users have reported that the issue is solved by just rebooting your PS3. Also, try connecting your PS3 to the Router with the Ethernet cable. You will need to change the Network settings to a wired connection on your PS3 for this to work. If this sorts out the problem you know it has something to do with your wireless Router or the wireless settings.

Hey,
When you have this error code, the cause may come from your key. Reconfigure your router and select a key that is compatible with your PS3. Ie. WEP key which is a secure setting, but not the “MOST SECURE” setting. After you select a compatible key then you will be on your way to the races.
